Downtown Laredo will glow yellow as a message of unity that goes beyond borders.

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Downtown Laredo will glow yellow as a message of unity that goes beyond borders.

Laredo nonprofit Tu Casa Gráfica is participating in the Friends Across Borders international project, which aims to highlight friendships that transcend borders in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Each city involved in the project communicates a unique message, with Laredo highlighting the yellow flower as a symbol of friendship. The yellow flower symbol can be seen on posters throughout downtown in both Laredo and Nuevo Laredo.

According to Viky Garcia from the organization, “We’re aiming to show that we are different countries, but we are also very interlinked and very interdependent. It’s our expression of friendship. Also, you will see other activities happening on August 16th. This is just one part of a larger product.”

If you would like to get involved in Friends Across Borders, you can contact Garcia at (956) 307-6333 or email her at tucasagrafica25@gmail.com.
